So Today I'm going to be following along with my blogging series and today I wanted to do a special talking about things no one told me when I started my blog.
Things to know before star a blog
#1 So the very first tip that I wish I would have been told in the very beginning is to blog about what I was passionate about but not only that because I feel like that part kind of comes natural you know you want to talk about what you know most about.
#2 But the second part to that which I wish I was told back then is I should be blogging about what I'm also good at in the very beginning I was doing a mishmash of blog posts that half of them didn't relate to each other and a lot of them were things and topics that I just didn't really know much about but I just had an interest in for instance.
#3 I wish someone had told me in the very beginning is basically I wish someone would have come to me and been like okay do you want to do your blog like you know long-term goals do you want to do it as a full-time job like do you want to make an income from this do you want to pour your heart and soul into this and basically start like a business from this or do you just want to do it for fun like for your mom and dad to read it would have been great at the time to make a little bit of money.
#4 I think the biggest question that I wish I would have asked myself from day one is what I show my blog to my current employer. Just because it was like a girly little blog that I didn't put much effort into in the beginning if you want it one day like you know make a living from this and you don't want to be ashamed of what you're writing or writing about things that you don't really know about having poor grammatical skills which I did for a long time.
#5 I know you guys want to make some money from your blog which is okay like that's nothing to be ashamed of especially since you're putting so much hard work into it.
#6 I truly feel like if there's one thing I know for sure about blogging and making money is you literally have to be borderline obsessed to make any return on investment from your blog so if you guys aren't full-on passionate wanting to do it every day till midnight maybe not midnight but if you think about it and you're at work.
#7 I mean I'm gonna be frank you're not going to succeed this isn't like a side part time kind of thing it's a really like it's almost like building a business from a ground up and the best way that my mom actually taught me how to think about my blog she told me that I should look at it as like my portfolio.
#8 I wanted to mention I wrote down it's one of the biggest things that I have to say about blogging is you literally cannot give a crap about what other people think.
#9 I have made a little bit of money through like to know it but not enough for me to like talk all about it it's a way bigger bloggers in my opinion can make a good amount of money if you're smaller like me or midsize um you just you're not really going to make a lot since you have to have a lot of Instagram followers so definitely try it out you do have to apply for it I believe you have to have so many blog followers like on your blog and readers to get accepted into the program and I was denied the first time so don't feel discouraged if you're denied from them just keep applying keep updating your blog everything's a learning curve so you have to just keep growing .
#10 If I don't have the social media stats to back me up I at least have my youtube channel so basically I would say focus on one platform that is natural to you so for me that's YouTube and Instagram a little bit but yeah focus on one platform because it's really hard to like be a master of all of them.
